The Pink Walk: 10,779 participants take the next step in the fight against breast cancer in 2025

In 2025, Pink Ribbon vzw organized another two editions of The Pink Walk, in May and in October. Spread over the two months, no fewer than 10,779 participants took part and collectively raised € 248,919 for the fight against breast cancer.

Take the next step in the fight against breast cancer. With that slogan, Pink Ribbon launched the campaign of The Pink Walk 2025. With this, the non-profit organization referred to the fact that we already have many editions of this project behind us, but that the fight against breast cancer is far from over. And because sufficient exercise can prevent 1 in 3 cancer diagnoses, the non-profit organization once again focused on the most accessible sport: walking.

With The Pink Walk , Pink Ribbon challenged everyone to walk as much as possible over the course of a month. Whether you traded in the car for a long walk or made time for a walk around the block during your lunch break, you decided how to reach your daily step goal. Through the online platform, you could enter steps and track the intermediate score. Thus, within circles of friends and companies, an internal competition was already being organized.

10,779 enthusiastic strollers

In May, 6,796 people signed up on The Pink Walks online platform. Together they walked more than 30 times around the globe, accounting for about 1.2 million kilometers. All over the country numerous walking moments were organized: with family, with friends, even at work with colleagues. As many as 133 companies participated in this edition.

During International Breast Cancer Month, in October the twelfth edition of The Pink Walk took place. And although the days grew darker and fresher, 3,983 enthusiastic walkers took up the walking challenge. With a daily average of 5.7 kilometers per active walker, there was also more exercise than usual during this month.

Nearly 250,000 euros for Pink Ribbon

Across the two editions, no less than 248,919 euros were raised for the non-profit organization in 2025. This amount consisted of the registration fees of all participants on the one hand, and additional donations donated during May and October on the other. As in other years, the total proceeds will be distributed among Pink Ribbon 's various projects that contribute to breast cancer awareness, prevention, early detection, psychosocial support for patients and those around them and breast cancer research.

Thank you to all 10,779 participants! Thank you for joining us in taking the next step in the fight against breast cancer!

It's a warped argument that persists stubbornly and keeps popping up in the media, making women very worried. Fortunately, scientists have researched this thoroughly (1).
