Golfing with a pink goal in the National Ladies Golf Cup

The joy of golf and solidarity in the fight against breast cancer—these are the two core values of the Pink Ribbon Ladies Golf Cup. Did you know that the average golfer takes about 10,000 steps during an 18-hole round? It was with this in mind that Pink Ribbon launched the National Ladies Golf Cup Pink Ribbon 2025. Throughout the year, the national nonprofit organizes numerous projects focused on increasing physical activity to prevent breast cancer. Following various walking events and the biennial The Pink Walk, Pink Ribbon has Pink Ribbon expanded into the world of golf.

2025 Edition

The project launched its very first edition in 2025, and it was an instant hit. No fewer than 28 Belgian clubs participated, becoming the founding members of this wonderful initiative. Throughout the year, each club organized its own competition in support of Pink Ribbon. As a result, a wave of pink swept across the various golf courses all year long. From each competition, the four winners advanced to the grand finale of the Pink Ribbon Ladies Golf Cup.

Thursday, October 16 was the big day: the grand finale of the 2025 Pink Ribbon Ladies Golf Cup. The event took place at the Royal Latem Golf Club. A total of 104 players competed against one another, all vying for that coveted trophy. It was a fantastic day filled with golfing fun. In addition to the competition, there was also time for other activities. For instance, supporters could participate in a putting contest or give it their all in the hat competition. Golf Club de Naxhelet won the first edition and received the crystal trophy. Additionally, Royal Golf Club Bercuit received the award for most generous club, closely followed by Westgolf. Furthermore, the Gwen Klein Hat competition was won by a member of Royal Latem Golf Club, the host of the final. For this project, Pink Ribbon could Pink Ribbon count on the loyal support of partner Estée Lauder Companies. They ensured that the female golfers and supporters looked their best with a lipstick touch-up. They also donated generous prizes for the awards ceremony and raffle. These were gratefully received by the deserving winners.

Fundraising

The National Ladies Golf Cup focuses on raising funds for the fight against breast cancer. Throughout the year, each club organizes an event to contribute financially. These range from raffles to sales of secondhand clothing and much more. In 2025, a total of 53,495 euros was raised. In total, a whopping 50,000 euros was raised. A wonderful final amount that was partly used to distribute the book *Omhelzingen* to breast cancer patients through Belgian breast clinics. In 2026, Pink Ribbon is bringing another Pink Ribbon to the forefront: Geknipt voor Haar. After October of this year, the proceeds will be used, among other things, to provide financial support to breast cancer patients dealing with hair loss, for example by providing a wig, scarf, or other head covering.

2026 Edition

Due to its great success, the non-profit organization will continue this project in 2026. This year, 40 Belgian golf clubs have signed up , and each will organize a tournament to benefit Pink Ribbon. Once again, a wave of pink will sweep across our country throughout the entire golf season. Each club will send two winners, who will ultimately compete against each other in the Grand Final on Monday, October 12. This year, the Royal Waterloo Golf Club has the honor of hosting the final on its grounds. Thanks to the support of Pink Ribbon Estée Lauder Companies, Mayerline, and Greenpan, attractive prizes will also be awarded to the winning players. It promises to be another wonderful day filled with golfing fun and solidarity for Pink Ribbon.
