Welcome to walking group M&M WiWALK by Winny De Prycker
Who is the walking coach?
Winny De Prycker (62) decided to become a Pink Ribbon walking coach in 2022. After going through a tough journey as a cancer patient herself, she wanted to get back into active exercise. "This was not obvious, so I wanted to do this in a group. This way I can also support others from my own experience," says the coach.
In three words, Winny would describe herself as creative, warm-hearted and passionate. The best compliment she ever received was "You are an inspiration."
How often do we go hiking?
Once a week, Winny plans a walk of about 5 kilometers, appointment on Saturdays between 10 a.m. and noon. They also walk 15 kilometers once a month, this also continues on Saturdays.
What region are we hiking in?
M&M WiWALK walks in East Flanders, especially in the region of Ghent.

Count steps instead of minutes
We are advised to be active for 150 minutes each week for a healthy life and the lowest possible risk of cancer, but counting active minutes is not so helpful. According to new research, you might as well express your activity in increments. A lot more practical.
'I can play with my grandchildren again!'
Exercise improves quality of life and reduces fatigue in men and women with metastatic breast cancer. So says a new European study led by the University of Utrecht, presented at a breast cancer conference in Vilvoorde in January 2024. Pink Ribbon attended.

In the same boat
Moving together heals body and soul. This is proven by the Pink Ribbonettes, women with breast cancer who row on water courses in Brussels, Lier and Turnhout.
