Meet our mascot Sandy!
Who is Sandy?

Sandy is Pink Ribbon 's lovable ostrich mascot and the figurehead of the Mammoquiz campaign. She was officially presented on September 24, 2024 during Pink Ribbon's annual press conference. Since then, she has been the face of breast cancer prevention in Belgium.
Sandy as figurehead of the Mammoquiz
As an ostrich, Sandy reminds us not to bury our heads in the sand when it comes to our health. She encourages everyone to stay alert, take the Mammoquiz and detect breast cancer early. Whether you meet her at a sporting event, at work or during a Pink Ribbon- Sandy always provides a smile as well as an important message: "Take the Mammoquiz and find out what type you are!"
Why Sandy matters
Sandy is much more than a mascot. She symbolizes the group of people who (still) know too little about breast cancer or sometimes put off their checkups. With her presence, she helps create awareness and spark conversations about prevention - in an accessible, warm way.
Thanks to Sandy, we are also reaching people who may not have come in contact with Pink Ribbon or the Mammoquiz before. Her mission is simple but powerful:
👉 fewer ostriches, more watchdogs!
Where do you meet Sandy?
Sandy travels all over the country to bring attention to breast cancer prevention. You could already meet her at venues including:
- Nocturne at the KMSKA
- Anderlecht Ladies Run
- Brussels Volkstejoeter
- company visit at Medi-Market
- 20 km through Brussels
- Walk for Pink Ribbon
Everywhere she appears, she invites people to take a fun photo, share it on social media with the hashtags #PinkRibbon #Mammoquiz, further spreading the message of early detection.
Sharing is sweet, but this is saving lives. 💗
