Welcome to Isolde Lechantre’s Pink Flamingos Walking Group
Who is the walking coach?
Isolde Lechantre (47) became Pink Ribbon in 2026. After her mother passed away, she felt lost, as if she had lost a part of herself and her identity. Walking was her lifeline and, step by step, brought her back to herself. With Pink Flamingos, Isolde wants to create a safe space where people can meet, share their stories, and feel understood. A place where you don’t have to explain anything, but can simply be yourself. This walking coach wants to help others experience the power of walking and guide them in rediscovering themselves after a life-changing experience like cancer. Because healing doesn’t mean you’re the same person again; it means you’re learning to walk a new path.
In three words, Isolde would describe herself as warm, connecting, and authentic. And the nicest compliment she’s ever received was “that people feel safe around her and that they can be themselves.”
How often do we go hiking?
Isolde meets up with her walking group every week. The exact day and location are still being finalized, but the walks will take place in the Ghent area (Mariakerke). Each walk will be 5 to 8 kilometers long, at a leisurely and comfortable pace that allows time for conversation and respects everyone’s abilities.
In addition, we occasionally plan a trip to the coast so we can take a walk along the water and get away from our everyday surroundings for a while.
What region are we hiking in?
Pink Flamingos offers walking tours in the Ghent area and its surrounding municipalities, with a focus on Mariakerke.
