Yes, if you want to donate your hair, it must be freshly washed and completely dry. If the hair isn't completely dry yet, it can develop mold and become unusable for a wig.

You may certainly cut your ponytail yourself if you like, but you may also go to a hairdresser. The choice is completely up to you.

You can choose which hairstylist you want to have your ponytail cut by. You’re always welcome to visit a “Geknipt voor haar” hairstylist listed on our website, but you can also cut it yourself.

There are several options for that. You can order your "Cut for Hair" envelope here. After your tail is cut, put it in the donation envelope. Then you can send the envelope through the mail for free, or you can stop by a Multipharma branch near you and bring the envelope in there. If your ponytail is cut at a "Cut for Hair" hairdresser, he/she will make sure your ponytail gets to us.

Your hair is turned into beautiful wigs. Pink Ribbon all the ponytails and sells them to local Belgian wig makers. The wigs themselves do not go directly to breast cancer patients, as the wig makers create wigs for a wide variety of audiences.

To make a full wig, it takes about 6 to 10 ponytails.

At the request of wig makers, the minimum length for a ponytail was changed from 30 to 35 cm. This is because a significant amount of hair is lost during the processing (also known as the “sizing process”), and a little extra hair is needed to tie the hair to the wig cap.

Unfortunately, you can't decide who gets a wig or hairpiece from your ponytail.
