Take the next step in the fight against breast cancer. With that slogan, Pink Ribbon launched Pink Ribbon campaign for The Pink Walk . The nonprofit organization was highlighting the fact that while many editions have already taken place, the fight against breast cancer is far from over. And because regular exercise can prevent 1 in 3 cancer diagnoses, the nonprofit once again focused on the most accessible form of exercise: walking.

With The Pink Walk , Pink Ribbon The Pink Walk Pink Ribbon to walk as much as possible for a month. Whether that means swapping the car for a long walk or taking a quick stroll around the block during lunch break, participants decide for themselves how to reach their daily step goal. They can log their steps and track their progress via the online platform.

This year, 5,667 people took up the challenge. That resulted in a total of 921,725 kilometers—enough to circle the globe 23 times. Numerous walking events were also organized across the country: with family, with friends, and even with coworkers. A total of 427 teams and 101 companies and organizations participated. The latter group seized this opportunity to encourage their employees to be more active.

The Province of Antwerp in the lead

One of the organizations that joined the Pink Challenge was the Province of Antwerp. With 42 participants, they walked a total of 7,392 km and raised 3,437 euros in donations. Provincial Executive Member Mireille Colson (N-VA) also contributed to that amount. Not only did she actively participate in the walk herself, but she also organized her own walking event on May 31. “Both of my grandmothers have passed away, and not long ago, a friend of mine was also diagnosed. That encouraged me to get involved, if only to offer a word of encouragement to all the women fighting this battle. I want to help raise the necessary funds for Pink Ribbon, Pink RibbonColson says.

Just like last year, Pink Ribbon closely tracked which province had the most participants. In 2025, the trophy went to Antwerp, and this year, following the May edition, the province is once again in the lead. With 1,239 participants and an average of 8,754 steps per day, they hold first place, followed by Limburg and East Flanders. After The Pink Walk October of this year, the 2026 Walking Champion will be announced.
